Mixon Fincher Day

On Friday, February 9, all of elementary celebrated our annual Mixon-Fincher Day. On this day each year, we honor and celebrate two very loved and respected ladies that were once teachers at FPD, Mrs. Mixon and Mrs. Fincher. Parents and other special guests enjoyed writings and illustrations that all students have worked hard on all year. It was a special time of sharing and celebrating student accomplishments.

Amelia Bedelia/Idiom Day

What a fabulous day we had celebrating and concluding our unit of study on Amelia Bedelia and idioms. The students came up with some very creative and unique ways to dress as idioms. Take a look and see if you can guess. Good luck and enjoy!

Happy 100th day of school! We are 100 days SMARTER!

The second graders enjoyed our 100th day of school last week with fun writing, math and reading activities! We estimated how fast we could do specific things in 100 seconds. We rolled a dice and flipped a coin 100 times. We sang upbeat songs to celebrate. We even wrote a bucket list of things we would like to do before we reach 100 years old! It was a great day of fun and celebration!
